principles of design in terms of styling

People vary in terms of their body types and  usually they would want to change an element of their body, this could be achieved in terms of the clothing he/she wears

If a person wants to look broader on the hips they could use principles of design such as lines, balance, textures contrast to bring about the look he/she wants

By wear a dark coloured top and wearing a bright neon coloured skirt it makes a person look narrow from the top whereas the brighter bottom makes a person look broader on the bottom
                                                                          contrast
This dress creates an illusion of
 having broader hips
                                                                         illusion
                                                                          textures
                                                                     horizontal lines

If a person wants a smaller waist or wants to enhance her waist she could wear garments which imply principles such as contrast, illusion and emphasis

                                                                        contrast

                                                                          illusion
                                                                        emphasis
                                                                          textures

If a person wants to look taller he or she can by wearing garments which have vertical lines, different textures and by illusion

                                                                     vertical lines
                                                             upward movement (rhythm)
